FAQ's

What is a manufactured home?

Manufactured homes fall into many different categories

ADU (accessory dwelling unit) - What we like to call the “in-law suite”. These are smaller units located on the same lot as an existing single-family home.

HUD - Built in an off-site factory to meet HUD code, permanently affixed to a metal frame, and shipped to your build site. The home and metal frame then gets set and anchored to an engineered slab. Wheels are removed from the frame and sent back to the manufacturer. HUD homes adhere to the federal HUD code.

MOD - Built in an offsite factory, placed on a metal frame carrier and shipped to your build site. The home is then lifted from the carrier via crane to permanently affix it to the foundation (crawlspace or basement). MOD homes adhere to local state build requirements.

Mobile Home - Predecessor of today’s manufactured home. Officially the name changed following the HUD Code requirements in 1976. Many people still use the term even though the mobile homes of yesteryear bear little resemblance to the manufactured homes of today.

What is the difference between a manufactured home and a stick-built / site-built home?

In most cases, the only difference is that manufactured homes are assembled in a factory and shipped to your build site on a trailer. Most Adrenaline Homes are built with:

- 2x6 exterior walls

- 2x3 or 2x4 interior walls

- OSB (Oriented Strand Board)

- Drywall throughout

Why should I buy a manufactured home instead of a stick-built?

Manufactured and Modular homes are:

- Built to the same (or higher) standards as stick-built

- Fully built in days, not months

- More cost-effective

- Less wasteful

Don't manufactured homes depreciate in value?

Due to the stringent nature of the HUD code and our manufacturers' high standard of quality materials, modern manufactured homes retain their value like never before.

Why don’t you list prices on your homes?

Every homebuyer’s situation is unique, and so is the cost to build. Factors like your build site, utility connections, home size, and the options you choose all play a role in pricing. Because of this, we provide customized quotes to give you the most accurate estimate for your specific needs.

Can I customize my home?

Yes! From floor plans to finishes, you can choose layouts, cabinets, flooring, and other features that fit your lifestyle and budget. Many buyers are surprised by how much flexibility they have compared to traditional builds.

Do manufactured homes qualify for financing?

Absolutely. Many lenders offer mortgages, FHA, VA, and USDA loan programs for manufactured and modular homes, making them accessible for first-time buyers, families, and retirees.

Are manufactured homes safe and durable?

Modern homes are built under strict federal (HUD) or state codes. They use the same quality materials as site-built homes and are engineered to withstand transportation, installation, and long-term living conditions.

Can I place a manufactured home anywhere?

Local zoning and land-use laws vary, so placement depends on your lot and community rules. Our team helps guide you through the process so you know your options before you buy.
